What is the Official H-E-B Product Tester Program?

The Official H-E-B Product Tester Program is a chance for you, an Owner and Partner, to provide feedback on our Own Brand products through taste Tests.

As you complete these Tests, you will earn Points. Each Point equals one (1) entry into a Monthly Drawing and a chance to win H-E-B Promotional Items!

How do I sign up to become an Official H-E-B Product Tester?

To sign up, please go to hebtester.com. There, you will complete a sign-up form. Once you sign up, you will have your own personal H-E-B Product Tester account, where you can view the number of Points you have collected, schedule Tests, and complete surveys.

Am I required to sign up and become an Official H-E-B Product Tester?

No. Joining and participating in the Official H-E-B Product Tester program is completely voluntary.

Who is eligible to become an Official H-E-B Product Tester?

You must be a current H E B Partner in good standing, and your primary work location must be SA#26, SA#41, SA#36, or one of the Arsenal buildings. Partners who work at other locations are not eligible to participate in the Program, though we continue to evaluate the expansion of the Program to other areas throughout H-E-B in the future.

What happens after I sign up?

Once your sign-up process is complete, we will send you a welcome email with instructions for you to complete your first survey. You will receive your welcome email no later than five (5) days after you sign up.

How will I be contacted to participate in Tests?

When we are ready to receive your feedback on Own Brand products, you will receive an email with a URL link asking you to complete a screener survey. The screener survey ensures you qualify for a Test based on a product you use or consume.

If you qualify, a product kit with samples will be delivered to the Product Pickup Zone at your location for you to pick up and evaluate during your paid break time.

How often will I be contacted to participate in the Tests?

Our goal is for you to receive weekly communication on products to Test. However, there may be periods of time when you don’t hear from us for a couple of weeks or longer.

Please keep in mind: though you may hear from us every week, you may not necessarily qualify to participate in every Test. In addition, even if multiple Tests are offered at once, you will be limited to completing two (2) product Tests in any given week.

If I have qualified and signed up for a Test, how do I receive my samples to Test?

Product kits, which will contain your samples to Test, will be delivered to your location’s Product Pickup Zone through a contactless experience.

Your product kit will be labeled with your name and placed on a set of shelves, which will be branded as an Official H-E-B Tester Product Pickup Zone.

If I have qualified and signed up for a Test, when will I receive my product kit?

When you complete your screener survey and sign up for a Test, we will provide you a date and time of when your product kit will be delivered. Additionally, a confirmation email will be sent to your email which will include the delivery date and time. Finally, once our H-E-B Tester admin team delivers your product kit, we will send you an email letting you know it’s available at the Product Pickup Zone.

Once my product kit is delivered, how quickly do I have to complete the Test?

Typically, you will have two (2) to three (3) days to pick up your product kit and complete your Test. Specific dates and times will be provided when you sign up for each Test.

If my product kit is delivered during a time that I am not scheduled, should I come in to work and pick it up?

No. Please only pick up your samples during your paid break when you are scheduled to work. Prior to signing up for a Test, you will need to confirm through the screener survey that you are working the day of or at least two (2) days after the scheduled delivery date.

After picking up my product kit, when should I complete the Test?

Please complete the Test and digital scorecard by the date provided by our H-E-B Tester admin team, which will be provided when you sign up. All Tests should be completed during your paid break(s). You can complete a Test over a single fifteen (15) minute break or over multiple breaks, if you prefer.

How long will it take to complete a Test?

A Test will take less than ten (10) minutes to complete. You will have the option to complete a Test over a single break or multiple breaks. For example, if you decided to complete a Test over two (2) break periods during a single shift, you would spend less than five (5) minutes starting the Test during your first break, and less than five (5) minutes completing the Test during your second break.

Besides my product kit, do I need to bring anything else to complete a Test?

Yes. You will need to bring a Wi-Fi enabled device (ex., mobile phone), so you can complete your digital scorecard. Other than the Wi-Fi enabled device, our H-E-B Tester admin team will supply everything else you need!

What exactly will I be doing during a Test?

In most cases, you will be trying two (2) blind samples provided by our H-E-B Tester admin team. After trying the samples, you will rate them via a digital scorecard. During the Test, the digital scorecard will take you through every step.

How many samples will I try in a Test?

In most cases, you will only try two (2) samples.

How do I access the digital scorecard to rate my samples after I try them?

A URL link will be provided to you in your delivery confirmation email, which will take you to your digital scorecard, if clicked. Additionally, you can access your digital scorecard through your H-E-B Product Tester account at hebtester.com.

Where do I find information about ingredients and allergens for the Test?

During the screener survey, prior to signing up for a Test, our H-E-B Tester admin team will provide you with a list of ingredients and allergens for the items in the Test. Here, you can opt out of the screener survey and not sign up for the Test, after reviewing.

What do I do if I signed up for a Test but I need to cancel?

Log into your H-E-B Product Tester account, then click on the “Schedule” icon. From there, select the Test you would like to cancel, then click “decline”.

What happens if I do not complete a Test I signed up for?

If you do not complete a Test you signed up for, you will not receive any Points. If you don’t pick up your product kit, our H-E-B Tester team will dispose of it two (2) days after the Test deadline.

How do I earn Monthly Drawing entries?

After you complete a Test, one (1) Point will automatically be loaded to your H-E-B Product Tester account within five (5) business days, unless noted otherwise. Each Point you earn equals one (1) Monthly Drawing entry. Entries carry over from July 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023. There is no limit on the number of entries you can earn.

What type of Promotional Items can I win in the drawing each month?

Promotional Items will vary month to month. Members can win KODI cups, mugs, and tumblers, H-E-B Home products, and other H-E-B Product Tester swag.

Do I get to select the color or style for the Promotional Item(s) that I win?

No. Promotional Items, colors, styles, and types of promotional items are subject to inventory availability.

If I win a Monthly Drawing, how long will it take to receive my Promotional Item?

Promotional Items will be delivered the month after each drawing. For example, if you are a winner of the July sweepstakes, you will receive your Promotional Item before August 31. Delivery times are subject to change due to inventory availability.

If I win a drawing, how will I receive my Promotional Item?

Promotional Items will be delivered to Product Pickup Zone the month after the sweepstakes drawing takes place unless otherwise communicated. The Promotional Item will be labeled with your name, and we will send you an email letting you know it has been delivered, so you can pick it up. You don’t need to sign anything or need a manager’s approval to pick up your Promotional Item.

How long will I have to earn Points and Monthly Drawing entries?

The Program will start July 1, 2023, and end December 31, 2023. During this time, you can earn an unlimited number of Points and Monthly Drawing entries.

Do my Points carry over at the end of the Program?

No, they do not carry over or roll over.

How are names drawn for each Monthly Drawing?

The H-E-B Product Tester admin team will select winners at random from among all entries received for each Monthly Drawing.

Can I win more than one Monthly Drawing?

No. There is a limit of one (1) Promotional Item per Member per Monthly Drawing.

When completing Tests, do I need to be off the clock?

No. Please remain on the clock when completing Tests. All Tests must be completed during your paid breaks and should not interfere with your ordinary duties or responsibilities.

Do I have to be on the H-E-B network to access my product testing account or to complete a Test?

No, you do not have to be on the H-E-B network.

Does my password for my product testing account change when I update my OnePass?

No, it does not. Your H-E-B Product Tester account password will need to be updated separately, and the site will prompt you to update your password when this is needed.

I’ve forgotten my password. Now what?

Click on “Lost Password” located under “Sign In” on the login screen at hebtester.com. Enter your email, then click “Reset My Password”. You will receive an email within thirty (30) minutes with a link to create a new password. This link will only be valid for two (2) hours. If you continue to have issues or need additional help, please send an email to hebtester@heb.com, and we can certainly help.

Where do I go if I need to change any information that I provided on the application form?

From your H-E-B Product Tester account, please click on the icon “Account.” You can change any information from this page, such as your address or phone number.
